RDI2CluB has the status of the Flagship project in the Policy Area ‘Bioeconomy’ within the framework of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).
In November 2017, the National Coordinators of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) granted the RDI2CluB Project the status of the flagship project of the Bioeconomy Policy Area. Flagship projects illustrate progress in the implementation of the above mentioned Strategy and serve as pilot examples of desirable actions in a given policy area.
According to the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, the bioeconomy offers numerous opportunities for the development of basic industries and opens up new perspectives for the development of entrepreneurship in rural areas.
The status of the Flagship Projects helps to raise awareness on rural development issues and promote the smart specialisation potential in the bioeconomy of rural areas and innovation systems.
Once the pilot phase will have been completed, the RDI2CluB partnership will create the digital platform available to everyone willing to build a sustainable bioeconomy hub community in rural areas.
The status of the flagship project distinguishes RDI2CluB Project and increases its visibility on the European arena. It also strengthens communication activities and helps to share the results of the Project with the rural areas of the Baltic Sea Region.
